Dr. Leigh Compton is an Assistant Professor of Pathology and Immunology and Medicine (Dermatology) at Washington University School of Medicine. Dr. Compton is the Director of the Dermatopathology Fellowship Program. She is also the Medical Director for the dermatopathology laboratory. She earned her medical and doctorate degrees from Vanderbilt University as part of the medical scientist training program. Her basic science research background is in pharmacology and developmental biology. After performing a post-doctoral research training fellowship and working in industry, she completed residency training in anatomic pathology and a fellowship in surgical pathology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, MA. She recently completed her dermatopathology training in the Harvard Combined Fellowship in Dermatopathology.

Dr. Compton has wide interests in cutaneous oncology and inflammatory skin lesions and is particularly interested in cutaneous mesenchymal neoplasms. She is excited to work with her pathology and clinical colleagues at Washington University and in the surrounding community.
